Around the world, pharmacists are playing an expanding role in primary health care, yet the pace and scale of integration vary widely across countries. This panel will explore different ways in which pharmacists are embedded in primary health care globally, examining how these models are integrated into health systems, how services are funded, and their impact on patient access, quality of care and health system performance.

As pharmacist authorization expands across jurisdictions, an essential question remains: are we truly ready to practice to our full scope? This panel will explore workforce readiness, education and training gaps, confidence versus competence, and system supports needed to ensure pharmacists can safely and effectively deliver services in primary health care settings.

This panel will examine the policy and advocacy levers shaping pharmacists’ authority to deliver primary health care services across different countries and jurisdictions. Panellists will share experiences navigating regulatory frameworks, payment and reimbursement models and interprofessional dynamics, highlighting both successes and ongoing barriers. The discussion will focus on how coordinated leadership, evidence generation and advocacy can accelerate pharmacist integration into primary health care and shape the future of health systems globally.
