Organised by the Skin Pharmacy Professional Committee of Chinese Medical Education Association Programme: Prof. Quan-gang Zhu, Skin Pharmacy Professional Committee of China Medical Education Association, China and Mr Robert Moss, FIP Vice President, Netherlands Introduction: As the human body’s largest organ, the skin serves not only as a physical, chemical, microecological and immune barrier but also as an important route for drug delivery. Rising public health literacy calls for enhanced skin health management practices. Dermatopharmacy is an emerging interdisciplinary field. In 2023, the first formal professional committee in this field was established in China, integrating pharmaceutical sciences with clinical dermatology – from laboratory research and translational development to clinical practice. As an intersection of dermatology and pharmacy, it underpins the treatment of intractable skin disorders. Amid the global trend of patient-centred care, it goes beyond conventional pharmacotherapy, integrating medication intervention, health education, lifestyle guidance and interdisciplinary collaboration for integrated health management. This session brings together experts to explore latest progress, challenges and future directions of dermatopharmacy. It builds a platform for clinicians, pharmacists and healthcare workers to connect pharmacotherapy with comprehensive skin health management, aiming to optimise clinical efficacy and enhance patients’ quality of life. This session aligns with FIP’s Development Goals, particularly goal 12 (Integrated health services). Programme:

It covers full-chain skin drug research & patient care, solves clinical medication challenges and supports precision skin health management. 4. Transdermal delivery solves key drawbacks of traditional treatments for alopecia and skin tumors. Integrating clinical dermatology with dermatopharmacy enables safer, precise individualized skin therapy.
