Introduction:
FIP and UNESCO have collaborated for around fifteen years on a global programme targeting twinning and networking in pharmacy education (UNITWIN). The FIP-UNESCO UNITWIN programme is an example of an action guided by integration amongst regional partners with the objective to spur innovation. One of the outcomes of this action plan is to support equity in education across the regions and globally. Within FIPEd, an additional action which contributes towards enhancing the global education network is the FIP Academic Institutional Membership (AIM).
FIP has developed UNITWIN centres for excellence (CfEs) in sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia and Western Pacific. This session puts forward how education initiatives within FIPEd through UNITWIN and AIM contribute to integration and innovation to promote equity in pharmacy education. The dimensions of equity in pharmacy education considered in this session include equity in academic development for faculty and students in education, training and research, and the embedding of principles of equity in the education journey as it reflects on patient care, access to medicines and healthcare services.

Learning objectives:
1. To describe collaboration education networks that can support equity in pharmacy education.
2. To reflect on purposeful outcomes from the UNITWIN and AIM initiatives.
3. To identify opportunities within FIPEd to support integration and innovation towards equity in pharmacy education.
Take home messages:
Equity is at the core of pharmacy education to ensure equal access to education opportunities, training and research. Equity needs to be embedded in the education journey to reflect pharmacy services provision. Identifying collaborating networks within FIPEd that can provide opportunities to develop initiatives towards equity in pharmacy education supports the initiative towards enhancing healthcare efficiency.
