Topic of the lecture: Breakthrough innovations that are redefining the future of pharma Chair: Dr Rebecka Isaksson, FIP Scientific Secretary, UK Description: We welcome you all to join this lecture, presented by the 2025 FIP Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist (mid-career) awardee, Dr Ranjita Shegokar Sahoo. Dr. Ranjita Shegokar is a Chief Pharma Innovation Officer at DiHeSys GmbH in Germany, and a pharmaceutical expert with a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research in drug delivery and nanotechnology. She has led research and development projects in industry, authored numerous publications, and received the prestigious German Innovation Award in 2022 and the German Medical Award in 2023. The lecture will cover trending technologies in pharma mirroring the broad span of Dr Shegokar’s research interests: there will be a focus on the need to establish new drug delivery forms, coupled with industry GMP processes, and the role of academic collaborations. The topics will cover 2D and 3D printing or drugs, the use of Organ-on-chip in drug development and nanomedicines.
